Lawson Power

The Stride is proud to present upcoming Victorian 200m and 400m sprinter Lawson Power.

Hailing from Melbourne’s south-east, Lawson has benefited from a successful junior career under the tutelage of Cathy Heijden, claiming numorous state and national junior 400m titles, culminating in a berth at the 2016 World U20 Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland. He attributes this early success to both the work of his immediate team and the vast exposure he has received to some of Victoria’s most prominent senior sprinters.

A Frankston High alumnus and avid student at Monash University, Lawson currently reprsents the Frankston athletic club as he looks towards the 2019 World University Games. In joining The Stride, Lawson is hoping to add an array of medical and technical expertise to help compliment his team and longtime physiotherapist Todd Anderson, with the aim of encouraging a smooth transition into the senior ranks, where he hopes to continually improve his personal bests and strive for national selection.

‘It’s hard not to be excited by the environment being cultivated by The Stride. The resources and support available will undoubtedly assist my transition into the senior ranks, while facilitating the upcoming goals of my team.’
