Conor Fry

The Stride is proud to present Conor Fry, one of Australia’s emerging 400m Hurdlers. Conor is a 400m and 400m hurdler who currently represents St Kevin’s Amateur Athletic Club, Latrobe University Sport and the Rising Track Club.

Conor has a unique coaching situation with Steve Fabris programming his running whilst Dan Bailey provides expert technical knowledge during hurdle sessions. Conor believes that having a team oversee his development is key to success. It is for that exact reason Conor and his team are excited to join The Stride, as they feel to have another avenue of knowledge and assistance can only aid his athletic development.

“I’m excited to join The Stride for the 2017/18 season. I’m confident that The Stride team will work alongside my coaches to ensure I’m in shape to train and compete at a high level this season. I’m confident the guidance of my team will enable me to make a successful transition to being an open athlete.”

In 2016/17 domestic season Conor trained alongside Deluca Lawson-Matthew, Alex Rowe and Peter Bol and has been fortunate enough to learn from some exemplary role models in his junior career.

Conor is a current completing a Bachelor in Physiotherapy at Latrobe University and is a proud member of the University’s Elite Athlete Program which enables him to complete his studies, attend his training sessions and work a part-time job and also coach the 400m runners at St Kevin’s College during the APS athletics season.

In 2018/19 Conor aims to take another step with his racing and performances. Having posted his fastest 400h opener and achieved a flat 400m PB prior to Christmas 2017 season 2017/18, his season came to a sudden halt due to a freak injury/event. However, with a great adherence and progression in his rehabilitation all parties are in strong belief he will be back, and the reward for the effort will be well worth it as he betters his performances to date.
