The Stride is proud to present Joseph Deng, one of Australia’s most promising 800m runners.
During the 2016/17 season Joseph travelled with his team mates to Europe and raced alongside some of the worlds best 800m runners including current 800m world record holder David Rudisha. In this racing block he achieved a personal best and set the Queensland U20 800m record in a time of 1:46.51.
Joseph has gone from strength to strength, with big milestones occurring after moving to Melbourne for further training opportunities. Here in the most liveable city Joseph trains with one of the best 800m squads in the country. Coached by Justin Rinaldi, Joseph has relished the opportunity of training alonside team mate and good friend Peter Bol.
Outside of track Joseph consults with The Stride team to ensure all his goals and performances are successful, and we feel the results speak for themselves.
“One of the reasons that I want to work with The Stride is because they’re a really professional group, they care about injury prevention and making sure I can also help manage myself. They’re certainly one of big reasons why I’ve been able to stay injury free since I made my move down to Melbourne”
Moving into 2017/18 season Joseph continues his relationship with The Stride and consults with the team on a regular basis. This is in regards to injury prevention and performance in order to meet the high standards that are required of an elite athlete.
