The Stride is proud to present Reilly Shaw who competes on the amateur and professional athletics circuit in Australia.
Reilly specialises in long distance events such as 1500m and the 3000m steeplechase. He currently has a personal best time of 3:43min and 8:44min in these two events. With consistent training and good injury management Reilly has had a very successful athletics career to date.
From 2012-14 Reilly was the u20 National Steeplechase Champion, and in in 2015 was first in Adelaide track classic for 3000m. With early success Reilly received a scholarship to Auburn College for track and academics. During his time at Auburn he came 4th in the southeastern Conference steeplechase and broke the Auburn University Freshman Steeplechase Record that stood for 29 years.
Reilly is very fortunate enough to have many close mentors such as Susan Hobson (aka mum) who was a three time olympian and commonwealth games representative for the 10,000m event. Now with world renown coach Craig Mottram
by his side, Reilly has partnered with The Stride to ensure the medical side of performance is covered. This is to ensure he achieves his goals of making the 2018 commonwealth games team for the 3000m steeple chase. This goal is coming close to becoming a reality for Shaw, with a new new personal best set in Sydney (2018 Commonwealth Games B Qualifier). With National selection trials just around the corner the entire team is very excited!
Reilly works closely with Stride Physiotherapist and Dietitians and is always a pleasure to work with. This is because we both make sure every stone is turned to ensure optimal outcome.
