The Stride is proud to present Sophie Taylor who competes on the amateur and professional athletics circuit in Australia.
Sophie currently has a personal best time of 11.70sec and 24.15 in the 100m and 200m events. With these impressive times Sophie has had a very successful athletics career to date.
On the professional circuit Sophie is a duel Ballarat Gift winner, and in 2011 was a Stawell Gift finalist.
On the amateur circuit Sophie has represented Victoria in both the 100m and 200m event. With her strong 2011 form, Sophie was selected to represent Australia in the Youth Commonwealth Games, in which she ran 5th in the 100m and 4th in the 200m.
Despite many years of junior success Sophie was plagued by injuries and spent close to 2 years recovering from reoccurring stress fractures. Sophie has not let this deter her from the track and due to her professionalism and dedication, both on and off the track, has returned to elite running.
Sophie now consults with The Stride team to ensure that she not only remains injury free, but so she can perform at the highest level. With a strong team approach to performance Sophie explained “I’m just eager to see what can be achieved” and how a individualised approach can assist her and coach, Scott Rowsell.
