The Stride is proud to present James Vine who competes on the amateur and professional athletics circuit in Australia.
As a junior James represented Australia at the Youth Olympics and placed 3rd in the 110m hurdles there. He also captained Victoria at the National Championships and held a ranking of number 12 in the world for the 110m hurdles. At high school James captained Melbourne Grammar to their first APS Athletics Title in 2010. During this meeting James won the 100m, 200m, 110m hurdles and 4x100m relay.
On the professional scene James has won several Victorian Athletics League races, with his professional athletic highlight being a close 3rd in the 2013 Stawell Gift .
Unfortunately over the past couple of seasons James has encountered some difficult injuries. Knowing too well that injuries are best prevented rather than rehabilitated, James now works tirelessly with The Stride consultants in addition to his coaching and conditioning team. With thorough assessment, a multidisciplinary approach and structured treatments James has regained confidence in his bodies ability to run incredibly fast. James explains he enjoys the training consistency with his coach Bradley Armstrong, knowing the form that lead him to a Stawell Gift final in 2013 isn’t far away.
